The core of our food philosophy at the Black Horse is to use only the best quality ingredients, sourced locally where ever possible. Our menus reflect seasonal change, making use of local game, fish, fruit and vegetables as available.
We ensure that there are always vegetarian options available on all our menus. Certain dishes are carefully selected to provide gluten-free alternatives.

Please note this is a sample menu. We now change our menu on a more regular basis, sometimes daily to make most of the fresh local produce available !
For Sunday Lunch we offer a choice of at least two traditional roast meats, as well as our usual main menu. Please note that we do not serve the lighter Lunch Menu on Sundays.
If you wish to dine in the restaurant, booking is always advisable. Should you prefer to eat in the bar it is first come first served. Our terraced garden is always a popular place to eat in the summer offering a choice of small secluded tables or larger ensembles for groups of families or friends.
Please be aware that unfortunately we cannot reserve tables for diners in either the bar or the garden except under certain circumstances.
Please see our restaurant chalkboards for daily specials.
A 3.8% ABV dry, hoppy traditional bitter with a light bronze colour. Excellent on its own and particularly good with food.
A Classic ABV 4.7% bitter with an aroma that is malty with hints of dried fruit. Flavour is bitter, nutty and slightly caramel.
This scrumptious, ABV 4.8% premium cider is rich in fruity aromas and ripe apple flavour. The autumnal windfall apples are our inspiration for this delicious, mellow cider.
